New Reference Values for Togo and Cameroon

The GLWC and Anker Research Institute are delighted to announce new 2023 Reference Values for Togo and Cameroon. The Reference Values for Togo estimate the wage a worker in rural and urban areas of Togo would need to receive each month to afford a basic but decent living and the Living Wage Reference Value for Cameroon estimates the living wage for a worker to afford a decent living in typical urban areas.

Anker Reference Values for living wages and living incomes are based on a methodology developed by Richard and Martha Anker and Ian Prates, using a regression analysis of the 40 quality-assured Anker Methodology Living Wage and Income Benchmark studies that have been carried out so far.

New Reference Values! Cameroon, Nigeria & Papua New Guinea

The GLWC and Anker Living Wage and Income Research Network are pleased to share four new Living Wage and Living Income Reference Values for rural areas of Cameroon, Nigeria, and Papua New Guinea. This effort is a joint collaboration with the Living Income Community of Practice and a consortium of cocoa and chocolate companies. These studies were made possible by the generous support from Olam Cocoa, Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate, Lindt & Sprungli, Mars Wrigley Confectionery, Mondelēz International, Nestlé, and The Hershey Company.
